Menorca holidays offer plenty for tourists to see and do regardless of what time of year you visit the island. Whether you prefer to sit on a beach all day or do some sightseeing there is definitely something for everyone.
The country has been described as a huge open air museum and probably has a greater quantity of ancient ruins than any other Mediterranean island. You can see prehistoric burial chambers, watchtowers on the top of hills and massive t – shaped rock monoliths while on Menorca holidays. As well as this is La Mola which is a fortress located at the Mahon harbour. Here visitors can see very well built fortifications which provide stunning views of the eastern end of the island.
One of the main features of the island is the dry stone walls and is something that has to been seen while on Menorca holidays. You can also see typical Menorcan wooden gates which are made of naturally bent branches of wild olive trees.
Menorca holidays wouldn’t be the same without a trip to the beach. Just like any tropical location you will find plenty scattered around the island so whether you want busy touristy places or quiet and remote beaches, you are bound to find what you are looking for.
There are also plenty of activities to keep everyone busy during the day so you will never get bored. You can go for a ride on a motorboat, sail on a catamaran or yacht and much more. Cricket and golf are both very popular sports with tourists on Menorca holidays so there are plenty of facilities available for this. As well as this horse riding, tennis, basketball and beach volleyball can be enjoyed pretty much everywhere.
There is also plenty to do in the evenings with an array of bars and restaurants located all around the island. Dinner is rarely served before 8pm although restaurants are open before then they are very quiet so there won’t be much atmosphere. Menorca holidays are all about trying the local food such as tortillas which are like omelettes.
With so much to see and do Menorca holidays will have something for everyone. Although it is wise to do research before you go to ensure that the resort you are staying in is well suited to you, you are pretty much safe wherever you go. All the resorts offer plenty of entertainment that suits everyone so you won’t run out of things to keep you busy.
