If you feel like you need a break but can’t get the time off work for a proper holiday then a city break could be perfect for you. Even though you’re not going away for two weeks it’s still a great way to get away for a bit and relax.
People go on a city break for many different reasons with the main one being that they just want to get away for a couple days. This is the ideal way to relax and have fun without having to spend too much money or taking a lot of time off work.
With so many cheap airlines and package deals available nowadays, more and more people are going on a city break. Several years ago if you went away you would do so for a week or two to make it worthwhile the flight prices. Whereas now you can get flights for less than a train fare so going away for a long weekend seems worthwhile.
Some people go on a city break because they may have always wanted to go somewhere but haven’t been sure if they would want to spend a whole holiday there. Going there for a couple days is the best way to get a taster for the place to see if you really like it. If you do really like it then you can always return for a longer breaker some other time.
With so many people moving abroad nowadays chances are that you have friends abroad somewhere. While a city break is a great opportunity to see friends and get away for a couple days, sometimes it can feel like you’re inconveniencing others if you’re staying with them or they’re showing you the sights. By just staying for a couple days you get to catch up without feeling like a nuisance.
Another reason why many people choose to go on a city break is because they may be going for a reason that only requires them to be there for a couple days. For example, stag and hen weekends are becoming increasingly popular so a lot of people want to go abroad with a group of friends for a couple days.
It’s easy to see why going on a city break is becoming increasingly popular with many people. With thousands of good deals available for short breaks it’s the perfect way to pick up a bargain and have a fun, unique weekend as well.

Cycling holidays are becoming more and more popular as they are a great way of seeing a country while getting fit at the same time. However, it can be hard deciding where to go as there are now so many options available.
One of the most popular places for cycling holidays is Burgundy, France. This is probably because many people regard it as one of the most fascinating regions in the whole of France and it is often labelled as the Land of fine art and living.
Perhaps the reason why cycling holidays in France have become so popular is because there is so much to see during the day while cycling and then lots to do at night as well. There are many beautiful areas in Burgundy such as Savigny – les Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet and Chateau de La Rochepot. All these little towns and many more can be enjoyed on cycling holidays and it’s unlikely you would be able to see this many different places on any other type of holiday.
When on cycling holidays in France it is impossible not to try the wine. Many of their regions are famous for producing some of the best wines in the world and they are therefore very proud of this. Wine can be enjoyed with dinner, dessert or even just as something to help relax after a long day.
Sites not to be missed while on cycling holidays in Burgundy is the museum that houses aeroplanes and vintage cars in Savigny, the Morovan Natural Park which has rivers, hills, castles and vineyards and the medieval village of Chateauneuf en Auxois. All these things can be seen on the various routes that cycling tours take and they usually provide a much needed rest.
There are many different types of cycling holidays that people can go on depending on the sites they want to see and how much cycling they think they can do. One of the most popular types of tours is the ones where people go to the vineyards as this is what France is famous for. Here tourists can see the Cote d’Or which is known for its fine wines, Vosne Romanee which is home of the regions most expensive wine and Chateau of La Rochepot where people can test the fine wines.
With so much variety and things to do it’s not surprising that so many people now choose cycling holidays as a unique alternative to getting away for a couple days and seeing the sites of beautiful countries.
